How To Select A
POLYGON Ministry Area Boundary |
DEFINITION: A Polygon is simply a closed area
bounded
by several lines. |
| If you have a pre-defined ministry area such as a
parish boundary or the area you want to study isn't well defined by either a RADIUS BOUNDARY or a ZIP CODE BOUNDARY, you may want to
provide us with a POLYGON BOUNDARY, which is a lot simpler than it sounds.
A polygon is a closed boundary with as many line sections as you
wish. With our interactive map tool all you do is move your cursor
to successive points on the map and click your left mouse button.
Make sure your last click is on top of your first click. This will
close your polygon. It can be helpful to follow existing lines such
as roads, highways, rivers and coastlines, but you don't have to.
Most people who have used our online tool draw polygon boundaries
with eight or fewer clicks. |

| As you can see, there are several options
for defining the area you want study. Each one is simple. And, there are no bad choices,
because either option will tell you a lot about the people you have an opportunity to
serve and point you in the right direction. |
