Average Age indicates the total age of all living persons within
the study area divided by the number of persons. |
|
|
Median Age divides the population into two equal groups: those
who are older than the median, and those who are younger. The median is normally a better
description of the typical persons age in a designated area because it is less
likely to be distorted by a small number of very old or very young persons. |
